The Dublin North City and County Regional Drugs Task Force (RDTF) was established in December 2003. It is part of ten Regional Drugs Task Force's. The RDTF has been assigned responsibility for ensuring the development of a coordinated response to tackling substance misuse in the non-Local Drug Task Force parts of its region.
The National Drugs Strategy approach to tackling the drug problem has been developed around the five pillars of supply reduction, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and research. Central to the approach has been the bringing together of key agencies - both the statutory and community/voluntary - in a planned and coordinated manner, to develop a range of appropriate responses to tackle problem drug use.
